Install Discoverable from the Shopify App Store with one click. No API keys, no CSV exports — just click Install and authorize the app to read your product data. You'll be guided through a quick onboarding that scans your catalog.
After installing, Discoverable walks you through an onboarding flow that scans your catalog. You can also run a full audit anytime from the Dashboard by clicking 'Re-scan Catalog'. The audit scores every product across six dimensions: titles, descriptions, attributes, images, structured data, and categorization.
Each product gets a score from 0-100 across six dimensions, plus an overall weighted score. Scores above 70 are 'Good' for AI agents, 40-70 'Needs Work', and below 40 are 'Critical' — meaning AI agents are very unlikely to recommend those products. Focus on critical products first for the biggest impact.
Click into any product from the Product Scores page to see specific issues and AI-generated fix suggestions. Each suggestion shows you exactly what would change, why it matters, and the expected impact. On the free plan you can apply up to 5 fixes; Pro gives you unlimited fixes.
The Score Trends page shows how your catalog's readiness improves over time. Each time you run an audit, your scores are recorded. You'll see dimension-level comparisons (current vs. previous) and which specific products improved the most.
Pro users get a public API endpoint at /api/ucp-feed/your-store.myshopify.com that serves structured product data to AI shopping agents. You can find your feed URL in Settings. The feed returns Schema.org/JSON-LD formatted data with your UCP readiness scores.
Troubleshooting
The onboarding scan caps at 25 products for speed. To audit your full catalog, go to the Dashboard and click 'Re-scan Catalog' — this will paginate through all products in your store.
The free plan includes 5 fix applications and AI suggestions for 3 products. Once you've used those, you'll see an upgrade prompt. These are lifetime limits — they don't reset. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited access.
Scores are calculated when you run an audit. After applying fixes, run a new 'Re-scan Catalog' from the Dashboard to see your updated scores. The Score Trends page will show the before/after comparison.
Make sure you're accessing the app through your Shopify admin (Apps > Discoverable). If you're seeing a blank page, try refreshing or clearing your browser cache. If the issue persists, contact support.
Go to Settings in the Discoverable app and scroll to the Plan & Pricing section. Click 'Upgrade for $14.99/month' and you'll be redirected to Shopify's billing approval page. The charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice.
You can cancel anytime from your Shopify admin under Apps > Discoverable (or via the Settings page). You'll keep access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, then revert to the free plan. All your audit data is preserved.
Understanding UCP
The Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) is Google's open standard for AI-powered shopping. Announced at NRF 2026 and co-developed with Shopify, Etsy, Target, Walmart, and Wayfair, UCP lets AI agents browse products, add to cart, and complete checkout on behalf of shoppers — directly inside AI conversations.
When a shopper asks Gemini or ChatGPT to find a product, the AI agent evaluates available products based on their structured data quality. Products with complete, well-structured data get recommended. Products with missing attributes, weak descriptions, or poor metadata are skipped entirely. UCP optimization is how you ensure your products are in the conversation.
We evaluate every product across: (1) Title quality — length, readability, and keyword optimization; (2) Description depth — specifications, use cases, and detail level; (3) Attributes — product type, vendor, tags, SKUs, and weight; (4) Images — count and alt text coverage; (5) Structured data — SEO metadata, barcodes, and handle quality; (6) Categorization — product type, tags, and active status.
AI shopping agents don't just look at price and availability. They evaluate whether they can confidently recommend a product to a shopper. This means they need rich descriptions (to understand what the product is), complete attributes (to compare against alternatives), good images with alt text (to present visually), and structured metadata (to verify authenticity and routing).
The highest-impact optimizations are usually: adding a meta description (if missing), expanding short product descriptions to include specifications and use cases, setting a product type on every product, adding alt text to images, and including at least 3 descriptive tags per product. Discoverable's AI suggestions handle all of these automatically.
